Tibetan silver alloy; Vajrapani - 17/18thC or earlier. It was found during the 1990s, while workers were digging a foundation for a house near Dharan in Nepal, They found a large copper pot. Inside were 23 statues, made to form a mandala. The statues included animals, Buddhas, Taras, various other deities, some very badly damaged, some in good condition. They looked to bel Nepalese or Tibetan, with this one being Tibetan. This one has expectable wear for such an early pieces, with the only loss being one side of the scarf having broken off behind his head from his hand to behind his head .Measures 3.5" tall and 4.5" on its custom base. Rare and dynamic piece with echoes of a Pala past (note the large beading along the outer edge of the base) Had remains of fibrous cloth on the surface when photographed. These fibers now removed. Most of dirt on figure can also probably be removed if desired, but I left it for the next owner to decide.
