9-11thC Pala Era, but from Bangladesh. Purchased in Bangladesh in the 1970's by the previous owner while living there with ans working with an international non-profit. I had the base custom made by a well regarded metal sculptor, specifically for this piece in the 1990's to complement the shape and patina. I've never seen another like it, though it is similar in many ways to the Northern Indian and Early Southern Himalayan Sculpture of the same period. Great face has the radiance found in the great bronzes of this period. Stands 4" tall for the figure only, 5.5" including the base. True collector's piece, and extremely rare.
