Country Group:
15th century Sukhothai or Kamphenhet (kingdom founded by the grandson of the last King of Sukhothai) stone Buddha head /face mounted on a teak base,. This is a particularly beautiful example of its type, and is face that is different than any other of its type I have offered. Kamphenhet Style Buddhas tend to look more masculine than their Sukhothai counterparts, and have a unique look, unlike any other style of Thai Buddha. The standout feature on this face is the mouth, which is subtly different than the mouths on other similar Buddhas-It’s hard to describe exactly in what way, but spend some time looking at the photos and maybe you will feel it as I do. There are relatively few of this type in the marketplace. 7.5"H x 4"W x 4"D (head alone, not including base ) 10.38lbs // 4.710kg(including base as permanently attached and could not weigh separately)
