This auction is for a near-set of bronzes from Java (Indonesia). In this Area, Buddhism, The Hindu Religion and local religion mixed together. This group is a perfect illustration. One is a buddha, one is the Indonesian/Javanese goddess of rice-Sawasatee or Dewi Sri, and the third is Ganesh, the Hindu elephant God. They are at least 19th century, and a good likelihood they are older. Unusual to find one, and quite rare to find a matched of three like this. Very well done for this type, with great faces.
