Magnificent (and authentic) 10/11thC "Haripunchai" style terracotta Buddha. Haripunchai was a kingdom in North-Central Thailand that had close ties (both politically and artistically) to the Khmer empire in Cambodia. Purchased 25 years ago from a farmer who dug this up in his field. He had many bits and pieces- this was one of only two complete Buddhas he had unearthed. Serene and beautiful face. One image is shown of Buddha before cleaning. No repairs I can see. Quite rare.( 3.75"H x 2.75"W x 1"D ) - (110g/w-base:380g )
