19th century Indian Hindu Bronze Bell. A beautifully made Hanuman/Garuda (back to back) sculpture adorns the top of the bell as a handle. It is Hanuman and Garuda in the Mudra of Service. This is a popular subject for this type of bell. From a collection of Indian bells of this type. All of the bells I saw were in near-perfect shape, with their strikers intact and what appeared to be their original handles connected to the original bell bottoms. I was fortunate to acquire four of them, which I am posting today. Sometimes, you find the statue itself without the bell or the statue with the bell without the clapper but in a very rough shape. To find it complete is a rare thing Bell (including bell and handle/statue)( 8.5"H x 4"D ) - 940g
