Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Very uncommon old/antique Tibetan stone Thangka. I've not seen othe like this- a beautifully and carefully carved and painted thin slab of shale or other stone. Expensively custom framed and glazed with museum glass. A square of stone is exposed on the back side. 8.5" x 12" piece is beautifully framed with an outer measurement of 15.5" x 19". This will be a little scary to ship due to the weight of the stone slab, though it is solidly mounted. Probably early to mid 20th century.
