18th Mongolian Tsong Ka Pa. Massive at 20.5 inches tall and 23 inches tall on its custom base. Superb face. Thick copper repousse (if 19thC likely thinner walled than this), Well-constructed, very solid, and in exceptional condition. Best of this type you will encounter in this size anywhere outside a museum or book. The previous owner, who lives in New York City, inherited it from a relative who purchased it through an auction in Russia many years ago when a small Eastern Russian regional museum was closed down. Item 6666 on my website, one of my all-time best Mongolian sculptures, came from the same source. This is the first time this piece is being offered, as it has been the centerpiece of my personal collection for the past decade, and is a signature piece of my website.
