Southeast Asian bronze drum from the 15th Century or earlier. In the literature, this is referred to as a "Heger type 1" drum and is used to classify all of this style of drum between the end of the Dong Son Period and the beginning of the modern styles of Frog drums found throughout Southeast Asia today. Superb example with outstanding patina. From an old European collection. The drum is in excellent condition with a deep, right patina and exceptional patina.
