12/13th Hotai Chinese Buddha in the form of a Square block. This is a very early depiction of this type of Fat Buddha. The face is as good as I have seen on this style of Buddha. Has a sensitivity and depth to the face that is found only in great art. I believe is piece is "museum quality." Made of a clay or other clay-like material. I owned this 20 years ago and recently got it back as part of an elaborate trade. Has a professionally made base/wall bracket by a gentleman who has made such items for the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. It's very good size and can either sit or be hung. No repairs I can see. ( 11.5"H x 7"W x 4.5"D ) - 17.31lbs
