A finely cast Korean—or possibly Japanese—Buddha dating to the 13th–15th century, distinguished by its exquisite, radiant expression. This piece has long been part of my personal collection, cherished for the unmistakable sense of joy and serenity it conveys. The casting is exceptionally well executed, featuring a smooth, almost mirror-like surface that reflects the high level of craftsmanship associated with early Buddhist sculpture.
Its compact size belies its strong presence, and its uniqueness is repeatedly noted—no one who has seen it has encountered another quite like it. This individuality, combined with its early date and refined execution, makes it a particularly special example.
