One of my all-time best out of the many thousands of Buddhas I have owned over the past three decades. For many years I believed it was late Pyu period Buddha with strong Pagan influence. After doing the TL test, I had to reevaluate My attribution of this piece, and I have come to believe it Is probably From a 12/13thC tribal group in Burma that took in influences from a number of the Contemporary centers of Influence, including Pagan, Mon, and late Pyu. The result is this unique Buddha. I have never seen another like it. See the attached Oxford TL test, which dates up to 800 years old (A bit later than the Pyu period and contemporary with late Pagan). YES- it IS that green- the photos are accurate. Photos show the recently made custom base. The two with the base were taken with a different camera. It is extremely large for its type. I've had several experts who have been amazed by this piece, as they have studied and collected Burmese sculpture for decades and have never seen another close to this in size, color, or personality. (9.5"H x 6"W x 4.5"D) - 4.61lbs // Base: (1.75"H x 7"W) - 2.60lbs.
