Chiang Sien Northern Thailand Amulet-early and fine- -the description on the back is from the person who pulled this collection together in the 1990s. He was a driver in Thailand, who was an avid collector and devoted Buddhist, who drove around the countryside throughout the year and stopped at as many amulet markets and small villages as possible in order to find old ambulance and other small treasures. He started doing this in the 1970s when many very special rarities were still available. Please look at item 9972 as the back photograph i of the label on plastic is from the back of that item. They were both excavated together in the same site. Often these or terra-cotta tablets were buried in significant numbers in order to amplify the spiritual power of a religious place.
