Antique Vietnamese wooden monk carved from a single piece of a very hard, heavy hard wood. It is then beautifully painted with old paints that have a real richness to them that is different than modern types. The way this piece was carved using the shape and angle of the wood And the way this combines with the painted face, especially the eyes,, creates a strong quirky personality.
