Javanese Solid Silver Bodhisattva on Bronze Base. A classic and well-defined example of its type, originating from an old Dutch collection assembled between the 1950s and 1980s. The figure dates to the 9th–10th century and was likely part of a large three-dimensional mandala, originally comprising several dozen related sculptures. The Bodhisattva itself stands 2.5 inches tall, or 3 7/8 inches when displayed on its period (9th–10th Century) bronze base. Both the silver figure and the bronze stand remain in excellent condition, with crisp detailing and a strong presence.
