Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
19thC Nepalese Buddha. Provincially cast, though still manages to seem very much "alive" and to radiate spiritual energy as much as many Buddhas that are much more refined. Looks to have been made for practice, and to have wear consistent with ritual use. Note the palm of the hand facing forward and spend time looking closely at the face. They both show the quality and age of the statue. The head is out of scale with the rest of the statue and is a bit small. This makes the peace look a bit suspicious, but I believe this is a good old piece. 3.5"H x 2.375"W x 1.5"D ) - 175g.
