Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Rare type 18thC Tibetan Buddha or Bodhisattva on a custom base. Very distinctive sculpting - note the way the crown and robes are deliberately sculpted and cast asymmetrically. The robes are exceptional, overall.. It may be from a small Kingdom or autonomous region that had its own special way of creating their bronze sculpture that was unique to their own small area. what I do know is that I've never seen another quite like it. Good casting and finishing. Very good quality overall. Beautiful condition, beautiful patina. ( 5"H x 3.5"W x 3.25"D ) - 1.78lbs. Base (5"W x 2"H ) - 1.07lbs
