Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Rare type 18thC Tibetan Buddha or Bodhisattva. 5.25" tall not including custom base. Very distinctive sculpting style -the crown and robes are deliberately displayed asymmetrically. Upon first glance, based upon the high-quality of the casting, and the overall look, it looks to be Tibetan or Nepalese, but when you spend time looking at the face and the robes, they have their own distinct look. This bronze may be from a small Kingdom or autonomous region that had its own special way of creating their bronze sculpture that was unique to their own small area. What I do know is that I've never seen another quite like it. A unique Himalayan bronze.
