18/19th century Tibetan or Nepalese round copper repousse Buddhist Reliquary. Consecrated with precious contents, possibly including remains of a revered teacher or monk. These are relatively uncommon in the marketplace. A very good size at( 14"D x 2.5"H ) - 7.65lbs. The quality of the. Repousse work is very good. The patina has been rubbed away a little bit in the very center in the highest point of the very middle on the front. This is the most vulnerable place on the entire piece as it sticks out further than any other spot. Other than this, it is in remarkably good condition for such a piece spend time looking at the details -it has a lot going on. It appears as if the original seal has never been broken, which means the original contents are still inside
