Very special amulet purchased from the widow of Chinese businessman who lived in Thailand and ran an antique furniture store there before he passed away. After he died, she kept a few of his best Buddha’s and this amulet on an altar in the back of the store as a remembrance. I admired the Buddhas and this amulet over a period of several years, as I visited her once or twice a year when we did business with the furniture that she sold in the store. One day, around the five year anniversary of his death she told me that she was finally ready to let go of the Buddhas and this amulet, which was his very favorite out of his large high-end lifelong collection of Thai amulets. She had tears in her eyes as she took them off the altar and gave them to me. The protective figure on the case appears to have authentic Ruby eyes. The silverwork on the case is exceptional, as good as I have seen on any case of this type, ever.. A nice feature of the case is that it can be opened so that the amulet can be taken out to examine. I have not opened the case myself as I’ve wanted to leave it untouched as I received it. It is one of the few pieces I had planned to never put up for sale, but I havedecided to put up all of the Buddhist and Hindu items I have collected over the past four decadesI for sale. I realized I was getting too attached to these spiritual objects, and that an important part of my Buddhist practice is about letting go of attachment to material things. I wore this piece every day for a period of time many years ago before putting it into my safe, where it sat for the better part of 20 years. It is now offered for your consideration.
