13th/14th Thai Hardstone Buddha head in a Bayon style. The stone is a type foundKhorat Plain and in central Thailand. Under close examination, it shows natural wear with incrustation and a clean break at the neck. There are many fakes of this type, but this is a good quality authentic example in a very good size. Unlike Khmer counterparts, it has a gentleness and sweetness, as it is moving towards a more general Thai style of Buddha, which tends to generate joy and equanimity. 10" H x 6" W x 6" D ) - 17.15lbs - ( Base 5.75" x 5" ). Outstanding example
