Antique Chinese “Happy Buddha” or Hotai carved out of what appears to be Zetan wood-one of the most prized hardwoods used for carving sculptures, and furniture in Asian countries. It is extremely hard and dense. It almost looks like it has no grain to it and appears almost black. It has what looks like silver inlay. A very special Buddha! Probably early 20th century.
