19th century Chinese bronze standing Buddhist monk. A superb example of its type with incredible casting, sculpting and finishing. Much finer than the vast majority of this type. Look closely at the detail s-everything from the finally worked lotus petals on the base to the tremendous finesse and beauty of the robes speaks to the exceptional quality of this bronze sculpture. The face is also extremely special, with a joyful expressive accountant, which is carefully sculpted and crisply cast, and carefully finished. Nice even patina.
