This finely cast Korean bronze Bodhisattva dates to the 18th–19th century and presents a quiet, contemplative presence characteristic of Korean Buddhist sculpture from this period. The figure stands upright on a lotus base, with a calm and introspective expression that conveys restraint, dignity, and spiritual focus. The face is softly modeled, with gently defined features that reflect an inward-looking serenity rather than overt emotion.

The bronze surface displays an attractive, naturally aged patina, with subtle variations in tone that emphasize the folds of the robe and the contours of the body. Ritual wear consistent with age is present throughout, adding authenticity and a sense of long devotional use. The drapery falls in restrained, vertical lines, reinforcing the stillness of the pose, while the lotus base is simply but confidently formed, providing visual balance and stability.

The ribbons extending from the ears down toward the shoulders appear to have been reattached at some point and would benefit from careful handling to ensure their continued stability. Overall, this is a compelling and relatively uncommon example of a standing Korean bronze Bodhisattva, notable for its meditative character, pleasing proportions, and honest surface wear. It represents the first example of this specific type offered, making it an appealing piece for collectors interested in Korean Buddhist bronzes or understated devotional sculpture.
