Uncommon, powerful, and very beautiful pair of solid cast Japanese Buddhas circa 1900-1920. The sculpting and casting is very fine. They appear to originally held staffs, which could easily be replaced. They have some wear and nicks and scratches to the patina- the only loss is to one earlobe. They are mirror images of each other(arms are opposite), which makes them even more beautiful on an altar or mantle. Their hair is wonderful with a swirl of enlightenment. They are an excellent size at a full 12 inches tall by 4.25 inches wide at the base.
