18/19thC Laos standing bronze Buddha-very best of its type, very large, beautifull.Look at the face, and then look at the curls at the bottom of the robes. These will give you a sense of the incredible quality of this Buddha. From a southern California collection that included a number of other remarkable Buddhas. I purchased two from the collection, this one and number 10795-a large 9th to 11th century Korean bronze Buddha that stands out as one of the best I have ever offered. I believe the collection was put together in the mid 20th century when extraordinary Buddhas were more available in the marketplace than they are today. At most times in my life I would be keeping both of these in my personal collection, but I am heading towards 70 and downsizing as I prepare to move into a smaller space. I still have close to 2000 items in my collection and need to sell what I can, especially the larger pieces. I therefore now have put my entire collection up for sale, even my all-time favorites like this one.
