Country Group:
19th to early 20th century Miniature Mongolian Buddhist paintings of Folk Figures. Two of the three have writing on the back, which appears to be the name of the figure on the front. I don’t know who these are supposed to represent. Collected 40 years ago when Mongolia was opening to the west and it was possible to find sets like this. They are part of a group of Mongolian Buddhist Training cards and small Thangkas and paintingsI collected in the late 1980s and early 1990s as part of my personal collection. I had thought I had put my entire collection up for sale to the Buddha gallery website and into my recent auctions, but I recently discovered a group of more than 50 items that I had put away for safekeeping and then lost track of - they will now all go up for sale. (The price is for the set of 3. ( 4.25"H x 3.25"W )
