15-17thC Laos Bronze Buddha-very special Buddha that has a special presence to it. That is hard to describe in words. It has a wonderful gentle smile, a perfect shape, beautiful ornamentation that perfectly complements its overall presentation, patina that is turning a jade green color, and surface that is smooth. Well cast and sculpted, it is the Buddha that stands out from the 30 others in the state collection. It was part of that I purchased at one time. There were other outstanding Buddhas, some larger and some smaller, many with wonderful faces, and a number that were outstanding quality, but none that were overall as special as this one. If I had to distill it down to one word, it would be charisma. Everything about it works together perfectly in harmony. It also has a deep place spiritual feel which is best captured in its smile. If I was earlier in my life, I would be keeping this for myself and not selling it but at this point, I am letting go of them all. ( 9.25"H x 3.5"W x 2.75"D ) - 2.38lbs.
