This is a fascinating Burmese Buddha that is in 13/14th century posPagan style. I’m unsure if it is a period piece or if it is a much more recent emulation. I’ve only seen one other like it and it was quite similar, only it was made standard bronze for that. And had the lacquer and gilding that is typically seen on Buddhist from that time. This one is cast of a silver colored bronze. It has quite good detail and does not look like the modern facts I have seen, but it also does not look like the period pieces I have seen either. It is possible that it was made somewhere in between then and now, not as a fake, but as an effort to emulate one of the great periods in Burmese art. I’m pricing it as if it were 19th century as a compromise. The base was made for another Buddha, but it looks good with this one. The Buddha does not sit solidly on the base, so you have to jiggle it to get it to sit evenly. A bit of wax or other material wood allow it to adhere solidly.
