19th to early 20thC Java Buddha -large, exceptional sculpting, casting, finishing, and overall quality. It’s the nicest one I have seen- anywhere. It a very nice size at 16 inches tall, including the back plate (notice the finely carved animal profiles) . It is substantially cast and comes in at 11 3/4 pounds. The newer ones tend to be thinner. I have trouble dating these, but this one is beginning to turn green from the inside out, has no sharp edges and is developing a true antique patina so I believe it’s at least beginning to approach 100 and could be a lot older. And it’s a striking piece that can’t feel any room.
