Extremely Fine Burmese bronze “Jambupati” Buddha- one of the most finely sculpted and cast of this type I have encountered in many years. Examine the photos and note the incredible beauty and detail. There are losses to the base (the black part is wood) and the ornament on one knee, as can be seen in the photos. In a less fine Buddha these would detract, but this pieces is so fine that he shines brightly in his current state. He may be Arakan or have Mon influence or be from other regional area, as he is not a typical Shan Buddha- the ornamentation is far too uncommon. The rosettes on the earrings, crown and sash are marvelous, as is the necklace. The face is also superb. Sits 10.5 inches tall.
