Very uncommon bust of an Arakan Buddha, probably originally on a temple wall. It is probably late 19th through the turn of the century. He has an intense gaze, and is quite powerful. The wooden back-plate was originally from something else, and is not original to the bust. It is mounted on a modern black metal stand. Would look incredible framed in a shadow box. The bust is either bronze or some other metal alloy. Quite large at 9.5 inches tall for the bust only, and 14 inches tall for the entire piece. A chip is missing from the tip of the finial, otherwise in very good condition for an old piece.
