Delightful 18thC Burmese narrative bronze which tells a story from the Buddha’s life. This is a relatively early one, and (despite the poor photos) it is of very good quality for one of these. This one shows the death of the Buddha, surrounded by 3 figures depicting )either the Buddha or other) a young man contemplating the world, a wandering monk and an old man- the many phases of life, as we all grow old and die. All 4 figures have faces you can see, and the sculptural form balance of the piece is great. Traces of lacquer and gilding remain. A little over 3.5 inches tall by 4.24 inches wide
