Jain masterpiece- as fine as you will see- 16 inches wide by 15 inches high by up to 4.5 inches deep not including the plinth on the bottom. Three seated deities. 2 celestial attendants, and 2 Makaras (mythical beasts), all in a beautiful stone temple. Wear commensurate with age. From a fine old Cleveland collection, purchased in London in the 1960's, although I do not have the paperwork anymore. The previous owner also had it looked at by staff at the Cleveland Museum of Art, which is famous for their Asian collection- they reportedly authenticated and admired it. I’ve looked for comparables, but even in the high end auction catalogues I can’t find one as good as this. The range on prices for related pieces is wide- I will price this in the middle of the pack for auction estimates for 5 years ago, even though this piece is at the very top.
