Very beautiful and large Burmese Buddha. The style is late Ava, with elements of Post-Pagan mixed in. The sculpting, casting, and finishing are first rate. When I first saw this piece I was concerned that it might be a copy, as there are so many fakes of this style, but the wear, patina, and underside all checked out. This is the best of it's type I have had the pleasure of listing. It is a very good size at 10 inches high and 6.5 inches wide at the base. The finial is set far back on the somewhat flat head, and it is depicted as more of a lotus bud than a flame, which suggest an earlier date. Also, the ears are just barely touching the shoulders, which is usually an indication of an earlier date
