Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Very lovely depiction of Vadrasattva, probably from the 16th century. The broad face is delightful, and has elements of Ming Buddhas, The casting is excellent: look at the details in the hands, bell, and jewelry. In good condition with no losses or repairs. About half of the gilding remains. There is also still traces of blue on the hair. It is extremely heavy, and weighs over 48 ounces. It stands a bit over 6 inches high not including the base. The base is still sealed and appears to be original.
