Item id: 139

This is a Northern Thai Buddha called Chiang Sien or Lanna style. This is a very good quality piece, and is a very nice size. He stands a full 11 inches high, and 7 inches wide at the base. I put a 4 inch Buddha in one photo to give a perspective of his good size. He was cleaned at some point, but the hair was left untouched, so you can see the original lacquer and gilding that originally covered the entire piece. The style is the earliest. of the Chiang Sien types, with a short sash over his shoulder and rounded finial (called Chiang Sien 1). He has no damage or losses.
