Country Group: China, Japan and Korea
One of a large group of antique miniature Buddhas I’ve collected over the years. This is larger and much earlier than the others. It is almost too large to be called a miniature at 3.75" tall. It is a classic 7-9th century gilded bronze Tang Dynasty Chinese Buddha. As with the vast majority of this type of piece, the face is mostly worn, and he stands as a graceful series of golden curves. Very nice!
