Very distinctive Thai Bronze Buddha in the “Kanom Thom” style, with his round face and unusual look. His body would have also had a much rounder look than most Thai Buddhas of the period as well. This is a regional variant found in both the far south and far north of Thailand in two particular areas during the 17th centuries. It is believed that the style derived from the emulation of one particular statue. Extremely well sculpted and nicely cast head. A decent size at 3.5" tall; 5.25" including base.
