Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Fantastic, very old wooden monk. Purchased from an estate- the owner had apparently found it along the side of the road near a very old monastery. I do not know more than that. I do not usually buy this kind of piece but I could not resist his superb face. Much darker lower down- looks to have been painted or lacquered originally.
