This is a Sukothai Buddha with real character. Though he is missing the top of his head, he doesn't seem to mind. While he is a classic Sukothai Buddha, he also appears to have some influence from northern Thai styles from the same period. He has a wonderful way of leaning back and beaming with a joyful countenance. He is only 4" tall due to the lack of finial and the very short base, the size of the body is that which would typically be that of at least a 6" or 7" Buddha.
