Item id: 1522

A personal favorite, and a very unusual fellow. This looks to be an 18th century (Saenkajai) Buddha-like figure from the Shan states of Burma. Saenkajai images are typically only found in Thailand and Laos, but due to the close relationship and the fluid borders between parts of Thailand and Burma, they are sometimes found in Burma as well. This image has a particular style to it which makes it a true standout. Everyone who sees him smiles. He’s the only one of his type I’ve ever come across. 6.5" tall.
