Extremely well cast Sukothai style walking Buddha on a custom solid ebony base. This Buddha is extremely heavy in weight as he is either solid or mostly solid. Possibly cast during the period of Rama V, which was during the late 19th century. He may be earlier, as I've found a very closely related piece of the same size in a 1999 Sothebys catalogue which decribes theirs as 19thC or earlier. It is almost certainly from the same royal workshop, and is of the same quality and has the same type of casting and patina. Their estimate (9 years ago) was 2500 to 2900 dollars.
