Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Mongolian fierce emanation of Shiva. Excavated from the site of a temple which was destroyed by the Russians when they marched through Mongolia in the 1920's. Extremely rare- perhaps unique. No one I’ve shown it to has ever seen one like it. Incredible expressiveness and animation- you can see clearly how finely sculpted this piece is down to the small details. Copper. 9.5" tall. Condition issues and losses as seen in the photos.
