Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
This is one of the most special pieces I've had the pleasure to offer for sale on my site. It is a solid silver Fierce Tantric Protective Deity sitting atop his consort. The base appears to be gilded bronze. The other solid silver Tibetan pieces of this type and quality I've seen have been dated at the second half of the 18th Century. Note the extraordinaty balance and composition - it is near perfect. Look at the pictures, they tell the story. 5-5/8" tall.
