This auction is for a wonderful provincial Laos Buddha. It is very early, and I suspect it is 15th century, although these provincial Laos Buddhas are hard to date precisely. The huge hands and feel, the feel to the casting and traces of lacquer and gilding are all typical of early Laos Buddhas. The bronze feels as if it is a mix that includes a good amount of silver. These are getting very hard to find. No damage or losses other than surface wear. Stands approximately 6 inches high.
