This auction is for a delightful and very uncommon Ava Buddha from Burma. It is has a delightful baby-like face and serene expression. It is in remarkably good condition, with some of it's original gilding remaining. Some of the signs of the early date apart from the face are the very broad sash, the short ears, and the style of the base. This is an outstanding example of it's type. It is a bit more expensive than comparable Shan or Mandalay Buddhas, but it is far rarer and more valuable. Stands approximately 6 inches high.
