An exceptional 12/13thC Pagan Buddha. It is quite large for an authentic piece at 8 and 1/4 inches high by 5.5 inches wide. It was originally covered with the typical black lacquer and gilding (some still remains) found on Pagan Buddhas. It has almost no clay core and is heavily cast. Those out there who know this kind of art will know that this piece is large and in exceptional condition for it's type. There are no losses or damage of any kind. It probably had a thick patina that was lightly cleaned earlier this century to reveal the underlying details. The price is not cheap, but it does represent an excellent opportunity to get an exceptional example of 12/13thC art at a reasonable price. Currently listed on Ebay
