This is an a wonderful and rarely encountered large Burmese Buddha. The face and long ears look related to Shan style Buddhas, but it may be earlier: the mudra, the construction and casting, the flattened head and the bronze alloy appear pre-Shan. I have seen a number of small Buddhas of this type, but never one close to this size. I have gotten one opinion that this piece is 17th century Tai Yai Shan, so I will give it an age estimate that includes this possibility. It is over 20 inches high by over 12 inches wide. It is in very good condition for it's age. It has the tip of the finial and a bit of the base missing, but the actual Buddha is complete with the exception of some original casting flaws (mostly on the back of one shoulder).
