This is probably the most finely cast Mon Buddha I have ever come across. This type of Buddha is usually done in a more provincial style, and with a simpler base. This one has exceptional casting and meticulous finishing. There is also an extremely fine (but hard to see) inscription in the front of the base. The casting was done in a 'double poured" method. The entire piece was once gilded; and traces remain . This is a collector's piece: I have seen only one other in this style, and it wasn't close to the
