a fantastic Ratanakosin Bronze Buddha sitting in the "European" position, with an elephhant and monkey at his feet in devotion. It is from the early/mid 19th century, and is a style unique to this period. I have had a few of this type before, but they were smaller, and not as nearly well executed. The expressiveness of the animals, the details on the mound the Buddha sits on, and the feeling in the face, body and hands of the Buddha are all outstanding. The sculpture is a very nice size at 9 and 3/4 inches
